Hello. I'm interested in a curious distinction that appears on the Universal Postal Union (UPU) website, concerning Guam, or should I say, the two Guams. The UPU list of member countries includes two entries for Guam: first as "a territory of the United States of America," and second as "the United States Possession of Guam."

The first of those is listed as a member (with the code "GU"); the second specified as an exclusion from the list.

From your perspective have you any idea what this distinction might mean?

What's been really interesting and exciting to see, from my perspective, is the increasing number of bloggers who are examining as well as speaking out against the build-up.

I honestly believe many more bloggers will take up this issue. At this point, most on the mainland are really unaware of it. The Insular Empire will be really, really important for awareness building.
